Next up: Beets

Well, thanks to all two of you for the lively discussion about cantaloupe.... Maybe beets will generate more fodder? (Don't worry, cantaloupe will come back!)

So, beets -- they taste like dirt. Discuss. Or refute...

Needless to say, I was aghast that the farm I volunteered at in Ecuador grew a LOT of beets (remolachas) compared to everything else.

Not quite food related

Sorry, I have to rant real quick here. Why, WHY are we still trying to extract more oil? How could that possibly fix ANYTHING, particularly the long-term outlook for gas prices and such? Isn't the definition of stupidity something like "doing the same thing and expecting different results?" HELLO!!!!!!!!!, use less petroleum and other fossil fuels in the first place (via more efficient vehicles and walkable/transit-oriented cities, etc), and then you don't need to worry about increasing production. It's pretty simple, folks...

Hi Everybody. Welcome to my attempt at a blog. Don't expect much, and you won't be disappointed!

There is not much material on the web dedicated to how cantaloupe is gross, so I felt an urgent need to devote more web space to that specific topic. And this blog was born. But because I don't know how long I can maintain a blog just on cantaloupe, the main theme of this blog will be yucky food in general. This will certainly mean food that is yucky to me, but if you come up with some good arguments about other foods, I will share them too.

So, first topic: cantaloupe. It tastes really gross and ends up as the primary ingredient in most fruit salads. Yuck. Discuss.
